The Supports Intensity Scale-Adult Version® (SIS-A®) is a standardized, norm-referenced measure of the intensity of support needs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). 

The purpose of the user’s manual is to enable users to administer and score the SIS-A with fidelity, and to interpret and use findings from the SIS-A in ways that will enhance planning processes and outcomes for adults with IDD.

This product bundle consists of one copy of the user’s manual and 25 copies of the interview form.

The Trainee Guide for the Supervisor Training Curriculum summarizes key points in the Curriculum and is meant as a note taking and reference tool. Each trainee will need their own copy of the Guide.

Trauma-Informed Behavioral Interventions: What Works and What Doesn't outlines the ways in which some individuals with IDD may have been harmed by a failure to consider problem behaviors as trauma responses that cannot be modified through the application of consequences.

With numerous case studies, the author describes exploring past traumas and successful strategies for stabilization, prevention, and intervention. This book provides insights on  how to support people who have experienced large and small-scale traumas. She provides examples of "mental health plans" and illustrates how the plans should be written to ensure optimal implementation.

The Death Penalty and Intellectual Disability is the authoritative resource on the application of diagnostic information concerning intellectual disability (ID) in death penalty cases, and will be useful to all professionals involved in ID determination processes within the criminal justice system.

In a landmark Atkins v. Virginia decision in 2002, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that executing someone with ID is a violation of the Eighth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which prohibits cruel and unusual punishment. In its 2014 Hall v. Florida decision, the Court ruled that, while states have the right to establish their own rules for handling Atkins cases, they cannot ignore scientific and medical consensus on the diagnosis of ID, which considers both IQ test scores and measures of adaptive behavior.

A History and Sociology of the Willowbrook State School introduces the reader to the Willowbrook State School, a place that many feel is the “ground zero” of the disabilities civil rights movement.  

The book explores the period before Geraldo Rivera’s sensational television exposé in 1972.
