The American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) is pleased to announce and congratulate Joyce S. Louden, PhD, on her appointment to the Association’s national Board of Directors to fulfill the term of Matthew Van Auken, MBA, who reluctantly stepped aside due to his expanding responsibilities at Developmental Pathways of Colorado.
Said Mr. Van Auken, "Being elected to serve on the AAIDD Board of Directors has been one of the greatest professional honors of my career. The staff and other board members that I've had the pleasure of serving with are experts in their field, thought leaders, and professionals of the highest degree. Thank you for the opportunity to serve this organization and I look forward to my continued involvement with AAIDD."
Dr. Louden is the Director of Education and Training, Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities, Louisiana Department of Health, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. A long-standing member of AAIDD, she has been active in the Louisiana Chapter of AAIDD and looks forward to serving the Association on the national Board of Directors. Dr. Louden will begin her service on the Board effective February 1, 2019.
