The American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) is pleased to announce and congratulate Kruti Acharya, MD, on her appointment to the Association’s national Board of Directors to fulfill the term of Alixe Bonardi, MS, MHA, who reluctantly stepped aside due to her expanding responsibilities at the Human Services Research Institute (HSRI).
Said Ms. Bonardi, "Being elected to serve on the AAIDD Board of Directors has been one of the greatest honors of my career. I have enjoyed serving with my fellow Board members and look forward to my continued involvement with the Association. I know that Dr. Acharya will be a great addition to the Board."
Dr. Acharya is an Associate Professor and Director of the Illinois LEND at the University of Illinois Chicago's Department of Disability and Human Development. A member of AAIDD since 2015 and recently co-Chair of the AAIDD Health & Wellness Interest Network, Dr. Acharya will begin her service on the Board effective December 1, 2021.
